Dedicated IP and Sender Reputation
Published
When people talk about email deliverability, you will hear the words sender reputation a lot.
Sender reputation is basically how much email providers trust your sending behavior. If you send spammy content, too many people report you, or you send in suspicious ways, your emails start going to spam.
Dedicated IP: an IP address used only by your sending system. This matters because reputation is often tied to IPs and domains.
If you are sharing an IP with other senders (like in some cheap or shared email systems), their bad behavior can hurt your deliverability even if you did nothing wrong.
When a dedicated IP makes sense:
If you send large volumes regularly, and you want full control to build a stable reputation over time.
When it does NOT matter much:
If you only send a few business emails a day, normal email hosting is fine, you don't need a dedicated IP for that.
Bottom line
Dedicated IPs are mainly a mass email marketing topic. For normal business email, focus on good DNS records (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) and not sending spam.
